There’s a Goldilocks Zone. Find It.
Your AICS Single Shot Adapter is fully adjustable on purpose.
Not all AICS short-action bottom metal is inlet exactly the same, and the distance from the magazine catch to the receiver can vary. So before you use it in a match or on the range, take a few minutes to dial it in.
You’ll need a set of Allen keys and a dummy round. Start by adjusting the magazine catch and the nylon friction screws. The goal is simple: No slop in the mag well, but not so tight that you’re forcing anything.
There’s a Goldilocks zone here. Too loose and it moves around. Too tight and you’ve created your own problem. You want it just right. It’s mostly trial and error, but it really doesn’t take much effort to find the sweet spot.
One important detail:
Make sure the magazine catch is installed with the taper UP.
Also, there are also two sets of tapped holes for the magazine catch — upper and lower. If you run out of adjustment you'll need to use the other set. That’s intentional.
Different bottom metal and receiver relationships can require different catch positions, so use whichever set gives you the proper engagement with everything fully seated.
Once you have the fit where you want it, verify that the magazine catch engages properly and then cycle the bolt to confirm feed and function. Feed the dummy round and make sure it ramps well.
Don’t skip any steps. Once adjusted correctly, it should stay put with very little wear or need for further adjustment.
