Compatibility & Installation
There are several versions of the CKYE-POD locking-rod assembly in circulation, so don't assume the setup on somebody else's bipod will be identical to yours.
We include the necessary rods and spacers to accommodate the versions we're aware of.
For installation, use this basic stack:
Washer → Bearing → Washer → Spacer (if required) → Handle
The important part is that the handle bottoms against the bearing—not against the internal threads of the bipod.
Compare the assembled length with your original threaded rod and select the rod/spacer combination that most closely matches it. Most bipods use the regular rod; some versions, particularly certain 3-piece configurations, require the long rod.

Dimensions may vary slightly due to differences between threaded-rod suppliers.
IMPORTANT: Oversized Button Installation
Remove the original buttons and thread the CROSSTAC replacements into place.
Before tightening them, make sure each button bottoms completely against its shoulder.
Some CKYE-POD versions have shallower threaded holes than others. If the threaded shaft bottoms internally before the shoulder seats against the bipod, do not tighten the button. An unsupported shoulder can allow the shaft to bend at the thread-relief area.
On those versions, you may need to carefully shorten the threaded portion of the replacement button—typically around .050"—until the shoulder seats properly.
Once properly seated, tighten only until snug. There is no need to crank on it. Do not use Loktite. The mating component inside the bipod is typically brass, which is considerably softer than the stainless steel replacement button.
