AICS Short Action Maintenance Block

Working on a precision rifle is a lot easier when the rifle isn't the thing you're fighting with.

The CROSSTAC AICS Short Action Maintenance Block gives you a solid, repeatable way to hold short-action precision rifles that use AICS-pattern magazines while you're cleaning, tuning or working on them.

The block fits directly into the AICS magazine well and uses four nylon adjustment screws—three on the sides and one in front—to take up unwanted play. Back them out until the block fits your particular magwell as snugly as you want it.

The block sits deep in the magazine well to provide a stable connection between the rifle and your vise. Once it's adjusted, clamp the block in the vise and work on the rifle instead of trying to figure out how to hold it.

We machine two working angles into the base.

Use the 0-degree position when you want the rifle level for general maintenance and tuning.  Rock it forward to the 10-degree downward position when cleaning so solvent flows toward the muzzle instead of running back toward the action.  We also machine clearance into the top of the block for the bolt raceway, so the fixture stays out of your way when you're doing trigger tuning or other maintenance.

CNC precision machined from solid HDPE, the block won't damage the magazine well and is resistant to common gun-cleaning solvents.

It's a simple idea: hold the rifle by something designed to hold the rifle.
