Shooting mats are your foundation.

If it's too narrow, too thick, or moves underneath you, it's not just uncomfortable — it's working against your shooting position. One more thing you have to fight instead of focusing on the shot.

The CROSSTAC Precision Long Range Shooting Mat was designed to get those frustrations out of the way. Its 36-inch-wide design gives your elbows and gear room to stay on the mat, while 3/8" closed-cell foam protects you from rocks, concrete and rough ground without making your shooting position soft or unstable.

A built-in bipod rail gives your bipod a consistent point to load against, helping you build a stable, repeatable prone position without the bipod walking forward on the mat.

And instead of rolling the dirty bottom of your mat against the surface you're going to lie on next time, the panel-fold design keeps the dirty side folded inward. Open it up, shoot, fold it and go.

This isn't the lightest mat we make. That's what the RECON is for. The Precision Mat is for the shooter who wants the best shooting platform we know how to build.

Why Choose the Precision Mat?

It stays flat. The folding panel design eliminates the curling you get with roll-up mats. Unfold it and shoot.

You get a full 36" of width. There's room for you, your rifle and the gear you actually use instead of hanging half your body in the dirt.

3/8" foam is intentional. Enough protection from concrete, rocks and rough ground without putting you on a thick, squishy surface that compromises stability.

Load your bipod against the built-in rail. It gives you a consistent point to preload the rifle for a more stable shooting position and better recoil management.

The dirty side stays with the dirty side. Fold the mat after shooting and dirt, mud and debris aren't rolled across the surface you'll lie on next time.

No hot rubberized top panel. We deliberately don't use one. Rubber sitting in direct summer sun can become an unnecessary distraction when you're trying to shoot.

Built for years of range use. 1000D CORDURA®, premium closed-cell foam and reinforced construction—not a disposable range pad.

Is the Precision Mat Right for Me?

Choose the Precision Mat if: You primarily shoot from established firing points, spend significant time prone, shoot from concrete or rough ground, value comfort and stability, or want the integral bipod-loading rail.

Choose the RECON instead if: Weight and packed size matter more than mat width and shooting comfort, especially if you'll carry the mat significant distances or move frequently between shooting positions.

Is 3/8" really enough padding? Yes, it's actually perfect. That thickness is deliberate. The goal isn't to make a mattress. It's to isolate you from rocks and hard ground while keeping you connected with a stable shooting surface.

Will it stay flat after storage? Yes. Because it folds rather than rolls, you don't fight curling when you deploy it.

Is it waterproof? The closed-cell foam won't absorb water, and the CORDURA® shell is PVC or urethane coated inside, then treated for water resistance outside. We describe the finished mat as water-resistant rather than waterproof, because stitching it all together naturally makes holes.

Can I use the bipod rail with my rifle? If you're shooting from a conventional bipod, place the bipod feet behind the padded rail and preload forward into it. The rail gives you a repeatable resistance point. Obviously don't use sharpened bipod feet that can cut the fabric, put those in front of the mat in the dirt where they belong.

Why doesn't it have a rubberized grip panel? Intentionally. We prefer a comfortable shooting surface that doesn't become excessively hot after sitting in direct summer sun.
