Working on your precision rimfire shouldn't require figuring out some creative way to balance the rifle in your vise.  The CROSSTAC AICS / Vudoo V-22 Maintenance Block gives you a solid, repeatable way to hold V-22 and AICS-based .22 LR rimfire actions while cleaning, tuning or working on the rifle.

The block fits directly into the AICS magazine well and uses four nylon adjustment screws—three on the sides and one in front—to take up any play. Simply back them out until the block fits your particular magwell as snugly as you want it.  Once it's adjusted, put the block in your vise and work on the rifle instead of fighting with it.

We machine two working angles into the base. Use the 0-degree position when you want the rifle level, or flip it to the 10-degree downward position when cleaning so solvent flows toward the muzzle instead of running back toward the action.

The block is also designed to clear the bolt raceway, giving you access for trigger tuning and other maintenance without the fixture getting in your way.  CNC machined from solid HDPE, it won't damage the magwell and is impervious to common gun-cleaning solvents.
